1. Battery and Charging Information
Battery type: The device contains a permanently installed lithium-ion battery with a nominal capacity of 4,905 mAh (typical 5,000 mAh). The battery cannot be replaced by the user. Replacement may only be carried out by authorized specialist personnel.

Risk of damage: If there is visible damage (cracks, dents, bulges, liquid leakage), unusual overheating, or an unpleasant odor, the device must no longer be used. A damaged battery can lead to overheating, fire, or injury.

Temperature range: The device functions best at ambient temperatures of 0 °C to 35 °C. Storage should be between −20 °C and 45 °C. Avoid direct sunlight, closed vehicles in summer, proximity to heating, or other heat sources (above 45 °C).

Charging: Only use undamaged USB-C cables and a suitable power adapter. The device supports USB Power Delivery (PD) and Samsung Super Fast Charging with a power of 10 W to a maximum of 45 W. The power adapter is not included in the scope of delivery. Do not charge the device near flammable materials. If the device becomes very hot during charging, disconnect it from the mains immediately.

Overcharging and care: Avoid continuous charging above 100% (e.g., overnight) if possible. The battery cycle life is ≥ 1,200 full cycles (according to EU energy label). After this number, at least 80% of the original capacity is still available.

2. Water and Dust Protection (IP68)
The Samsung Galaxy A57 5G is dustproof and waterproof according to IP68. It can withstand immersion in fresh water up to a depth of 1.5 meters for a maximum of 30 minutes (according to EU energy label).

Important limitations: The IP68 protection is not permanent. It can be impaired by normal wear and tear, drops, repairs, or improper opening of the device. The device is not suitable for saltwater, chlorinated water, soapy water, beverages, or other liquids – these can attack the seals.

No guarantee for liquid damage: Damage caused by contact with liquids (including fresh water) is generally excluded from the manufacturer's warranty. After contact with water, carefully dry the device with a soft, lint-free cloth. The charging port may only be used when it is completely dry. Do not use an external heat source (e.g., a hairdryer).

3. Display and Mechanical Robustness
The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass Victus+, which offers improved scratch and impact resistance. Nevertheless, a screen protector or a robust case should be used.

The scratch resistance of the screen is specified as level 5 on the Mohs hardness scale.

The device has received reliability class A for repeated free fall. According to testing, it survives 270 drops from a certain height without defect. This is a laboratory value – in everyday life, a drop can still lead to damage.

4. Repair, Warranty, and Software Updates
Self-repair not recommended: Opening the device (including for battery replacement) may only be carried out by qualified specialist personnel. Independent repairs can lead to electric shock, loss of IP68 certification, further damage, and voiding of the warranty.

Warranty: The statutory warranty rights apply (24 months in the EU). The manufacturer's warranty from Samsung for this model is 24 months (details see warranty conditions). The minimum duration of the warranty offered by the supplier is 24 months.

Repairability: The device has repairability class C (repairability index 3.02 out of 5.0). Information on certified workshops and spare parts can be found at the link mentioned above.

Software updates: Samsung guarantees 6 operating system updates (Android versions) as well as 6 years of security updates (monthly/quarterly patches). This keeps your device secure and up-to-date for a long time.

5. Disposal (WEEE & Battery Act)
Waste electronic equipment: The device must not be disposed of with household waste. At the end of its service life, hand it in at a municipal collection point for electrical and electronic equipment. The battery will be professionally removed there.

Battery note: Since the battery is permanently installed, the entire device is considered electronic scrap. Never throw it into fire or water.

6. Further Notes for Operation
Use with case and protective glass: Despite Gorilla Glass Victus+, we recommend additional protection with a screen protector and a shock-absorbing case.

Charger and cable: Only use approved power adapters and cables (e.g., from Samsung or USB-IF certified products) to avoid damage from incorrect voltage or poor insulation.

Extreme conditions: Avoid operation in dusty environments without protection as well as contact with sand or fine particles that could clog the charging port.
